Woodworth Wood Preservative
CCB (Copper Chrome Boric) Composition

Product - Woodworth CCB is a Copper-Chrome-Boric composition water soluble “fixed type” wood preservative for the protection of timber against insects, fungi, termites and marine organisms. Developed by Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, India and is being used by many countries in the world under different brand names. Conforming to BIS 401 for the treatment of timber. It is offered both as salt and oxide formulations per users’ needs.


Application - Woodworth CCB is used for all timber e.g. Doors, Windows, Fence Posts, Furniture etc.

Efficacy - It is highly effective preservative against decay, fungi, termites and marine organism as well.
Recommended Solution Strength - 4% to 6 % for Vacuum / Pressure treatment.

Method of Application - Vacuum/ Pressure method to achieve desired result.
Retention as per BIS - Retention varies from 4 kgs/m3 to 40 kgs/m3 to meet specific requirements.

Colour - Light greenish colour is incorporated after treatment and drying onthe timber and distinguishes treated timber from untreated portion. Not corrosive to metal.

Fixation/Drying - It is essential that treated timber is allowed to dry gradually in order to allow fixation of the preservative salt on the timber.

Remarks
i) It should be used as per recommendation of Standards or
manufacturers guidelines.
ii) CCB treated timber can be painted, polished or varnished.
iii) Carpentry as far as possible should be done before treatment, so
as to retain preservative on the surface of the timber.
iv) Fairly dry timber (moisture content not exceeding 30%) should be
selected to ensure proper penetration of preservative.
v) Treated timber after drying is not harmful to humans and domestic
animals.

Precautions - Store the preservative in cold place under shed. It should not be accessible to children.
