Woodworth Fire Retardant
Interior Type Composition

Product - Woodworth Fire Retardant (FRT) is a M. Phos. based water soluble interior type fire retardant suitable for protection of all types of timber articles against the spread of flame and it also inhibits insects, fungi, termites and marine organisms from feeding on treated timber. It does not give off obnoxious gases when the treated timber is put to fire.
Application - Can be used for all timber products e.g. doors, windows, fence posts, furniture etc.

Efficacy - It is highly effective preservative against spread of flame, decay, fungi, termites and marine organism.
Recommended Solution Strength - 4% to 6 % for vacuum/pressure treatment. However for dipping a 10% solution is recommended. In case of brushing or spraying a 12 15% solution should be used.

Method of Application - Vacuum/pressure/sipping/brushing method to achieve desired result.

Retention as per BIS - Retention varies from 14 kgs/m3 to 40 kgs/m3 to meet specific requirements.

Colour - No colour is incorporated after treatment and drying on the timber . Not corrosive to metal.

Fixation/Drying - It is essential that treated timber is allowed to dry gradually in order to allow diffusion of the fire retardant salt in the timber.

Remarks
i) It should be used as per recommendation of Standards or
manufacturers guidelines.
ii) FRT treated timber can be painted, polished or varnished.
iii) Carpentry as far as possible should be done before treatment, so
as to retain FRT on the surface of the timber.
iv) Fairly dry timber (moisture content not exceeding 30%) should be
selected to ensure proper penetration of FRT.
v) Treated timber after drying is not harmful to humans and domestic
animals.

Precautions - Store the preservative in cold place under shed. It should not be accessible to children.
